Ride up to the Rhune summit and come discover the most beautiful panorama that the Basque Country has to offer !

Only 10km from Saint Jean de Luz and between the authentic Basque towns of Ascain and Sare, the small mining train of the Rhune takes you to 905m of altitude on the mythic summit of the Basque Country.   From there, take in the French and Spanish country and the mountain ranges of the Pyrenees.

With 35 min of ascension at 8km/h enjoy the surrounding sites as the train takes you through the middle of grazing sheep and the famous wild Pottok horses of the Basque Country…

(march and october we are closed mondays and thursdays).

 

Regular departures at 10am and 3pm.

Additional departures according to the weather conditions and demand.

 

In July and August the first departure is at 9am and every 35min thereafter.
